The sweet potatoes are first washed, cleaned, and dried thoroughly. The peel is left on. We then take the sweet potatoes and thinly slice them into fillets and apply a thin layer of honey to each one. Next, we place them inside our dehydrator for 4 to 5 hours. If not refrigerated, the sweet potato treats will develop a pungent order after about a week. It’s still perfectly fine for the dogs, but the smell is far from pleasant for us humans.
